i was lighting it. my mates had been contacted about supplying all tech for the gig and mentioned to me as its the venue i work in normally. I said i would light it, but nothing was heard from the organisers, so in the end i still lit it, but was being paid by the council!

most of the photos are from the sound check so i could get up close to the bands.

Nice rig dude.

A bit more involved than what we can manage in the venue. Possibly you have more power too.

I take it that's what your doing with most of your time now-a-days.
Not caught up with you in ages.

You and Rich should come back for a visit, like i thought you had planned.

i think we might have a bit more :P
i think we have 70 in built circuits, plus 1 125A 3ph, 1 125A 1ph, 1 63A 3ph, 5 63A 1ph, plus a couple 32A supplies. If i had had the time (and the van space) i'd have made a fair whack at using that for saturday! :D

thats actually my first lighting gig for a band night since i started working there! mainly lighting dance schools and council awards nights! Not working too much tho due to uni. Roll on the summer!

I shall be back up in town soon(ish) i would think! Shall talk to Mince and see if we can arrange something!

Sounds cool. That's a lot of power. What is the actual venue?

I'm hoping to secure full-time work in edinburgh this summer, so we can probably meet regularly and banter about our gigs!

Thats the Motherwell Civic Concert Hall. We also have a theatre that backs on to it, which has about 400 seats. If i remember correctly the concert hall holds 2000 standing, 1000 seating, and 800 tiered seating.

nice venues, only problem is they are council run so trying to get new kit is a pain in the arse!

the guy who was organising the sound and brought in extra lighting has heard "nothing but praise" about the sound and lighting. :D

this means i should be lighting them on the scottish leg of their UK tour at the end of the year :D

the support act for the tour are called titus, i've worked with them before (there are some photos in my gig album on Facebook).

not sure how many dates the full tour is, but we know of one in glasgow, and we're trying to organise one in edinburgh and maybe one other!
